Topic: Connecting Fireface 400 to new computer

My computer recently died.  On the old one, there were built in ports and the Fireface 400 connected fine.  Well, there were no firewire ports on the new computer and no room for a full sized card.  They recommended a:LaCie FireWire 800 PCI Express Card 130988 which I bought and had installed.  I didn't realize there were/are (apparently) different types of firewire connecting cords??  What would I have to order to connect a 400 to this PCI Express?  Sorry, for such a basic question, but I am okay with program troubleshooting but a real dunce with hardware.  TIA

You will need a Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable, also referred to as a 6 pin to 9 pin Firewire cable RME Partner ALVA Cables are recommended.
