Topic: FireFace 400 - extremly loud noise from outputs

Hello,
I've started experiencing extremely loud hum/feedback from my monitors/headphones out. This has happened after my FF400 was not recognized anymore (settings icon gone and will not start), and I re-installed, updated flash.
The FireFace/laptop start fine, but with an extremely loud noise/hum from all outs.

The lights that represent the inputs of the device are constantly lit up as if there was something plugged into the front ins...not sure why.

MBP 2.4 Intel Core 2 Duo
OS 10.6.8
FireFace driver (tried the last 2)

Check the FF's power supply.

Thanks for quick reply.
The green light on the power supply's lead is lit up. When I unplugged I did notice a slight, 'burnt' smell.
I did think this could be the issue, but i have no FW port that can supply the device electricity...
Searching RME forum I found out people are using Linksys PSUs. will these do the job?
