Topic: FF400 on MacBook Pro not found after reconnecting

Hi,
after disconnecting the FF400 - connected through FireWire via a 800/400 adapter - I've got much problems that the Mac doesn't detect it on reconnect again.

Last time I made it somehow after 100 reboots and "I don't know what" (I think I also reinstalled the drivers, I'm not sure anymore...).

Is there a guide on how to reconnect the FireFace like "turn off power of the fireface and disconnect the firewire cable, switch on the mac, connect the cable, switch on the FireFace"?

Mac is 2 Months old, 17", OS is Lion 10.7.2., FireFace drivers should be the latest.

Well after feeled 1000 reboots, I made it on plugging in the firewire cable after the mac has fully booted and I entered the password. (And I guess it was the 3rd time I tried it this way...)

I'm just about to tackle the same problem after recently acquiring a macbook with Lion. Is this still a way to make the fireface comply? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
