Topic: Which would have a cleaner analog path FF400 or Octamic II

I'm wondering what device would have a cleaner path for A/D conversion.

Balanced TRS line level running into the 1-4 inputs of a Fireface 400
OR
Balanced TRS line level running into the 1-4 inputs of an OctaMic II

Both are ending up in Pro Tools 9, and it would be the same signal going to both, just wondering which path is cleaner or has the better A/D.

I'm guessing the Fireface would have a cleaner path since it's bypassing any mic pre, an optional low cut filter, phase reversal switch, and potentiometer.

But maybe the Octamic II has a better A/D converter and those extra pass thru's are worth it?

What do you all think...
