hello , i have an iMac 27 " core i5 2011 with os X Lion !!! and a RME Hammerfall DSP Multiface , and i want to know what software i have to download and how can i plug my RME interface to my iMac ??? please let me know !!! is just only plug via fire wire 400 to 800 or how ??? let me know poles and thanks for the attention !!! have a great day / night .
No, you need a HDSP host card. This means for your iMac you have to use some PCIe or ExpressCard adapter via Thunderbolt.
Just bought two Multiface II and I want to use them with the iMac (2010er).
As far as I know, the only solution is, to connect RME through some PCIe or ExpressCard adapter via Thunderbolt - as written above.
1. Has anybody tried that out - any problems like performance issues?
2. What products (Adapter) do you recommend
3. Is there an Alternative to RME HDSP Express Card?
4. How about linkin' two Multiface II via Firewire-Cable?

I doubt your 2010 imac has got TB yet - so there is no way to connect the MF.
Apart from that:
1) Works fine
2) Sonnet make such an adapter
3) No
4) Not possible.
