Topic: RME HDSP(e) Driver upgrade 3.26 to 3.27 - performance issues?

System: Win XP SP2 - ExpressCard w Multiface1

When upgrading from driver 3.26 to driver 3.27, I am having a change in performance levels I noticed when working on a cpu intensive mixing session.
Without touching any settings in driver or daw, a session that peaked at cpu levels of 90% with driver 3.26, with driver 3.27 overloads cpu with irregular but frequent spikes.

I have changed in between drivers 3.26 and 3.27 three times and tested then with several other songs - always with the same result.

It is not really an issue because keeping driver 3.26 solves the problem, I just wanted to share and find out if other users have made similar experiences.

Try again with "Optimize Multiclient" deselected in HDSP settings.

Thank you for your reply Jeff.

I did, but I still had the same issue with the 3.27 driver.
Rolled back to driver 3.26 and I don't have these cpu spikes anymore, no matter if "optimize multi-client mixing" is checked or not.

As mentioned, not really an issue, I'll stick to 3.26, I just wanted to inform your team and see if maybe some other user has a similar issue.

Thanks,
Chris
