Topic: Trying to get some volume on the headphones with a Babyface.

I have a RME babyface and when I turn up the volume either in the mixer software, on the control surface of the Babyface, or in ProTools, by the time I can barely hear it, it is clipping. Any suggestions?

Clueless.... they're cheap sony's. I don't think it's that though.... I think that its that I don't know where to make gain adjustments in the software, nor how to use the control surface of the babyface. I bought this stuff in Oct. 2011, and still have not produced a song. It's frustrating. It's not the only issue. I wish I knew where I could get a complete tutorial somewhere, that didn't assume you knew 3/4ths of it already.

Ah, on the right bottom side of TotalMixFX is the control room. The "Assign" button assigns where you want the sound to be.
Try phones 3/4 and double click the volume lever so it sits at 0dB.
And try reading the manual. I assume you have a brain and can take some time to read it.
