Topic: Cannot See My Soundcard In Control Panel

HI,

I have just acquired a Digi RME 9652 CARD.

I have installed it in the PC and the icon appears in the tool bar.

When i go in Control Panel it shows me that card is there and drivers loaded.

When I click sound in Control Panel it says no audio device installed.

How can I check to if the card is working.

I am running Windows vista on my PC.

I want to use the card for connection with Cubase SX 3.

Thanks

Try from cubase. The asio driver is probably working.

Re: Cannot See My Soundcard In Control Panel

Vinark,

Thanks for your reply.

I can sse the card in cubase.

I have set it to input and output but can't hear anything.

I am connecting to the card from the ADAT output of a Yamaha 01v96 VCM mixer.

I have tried to play back some of previous recording but this does not seem to work.

Re: Cannot See My Soundcard In Control Panel

Did you set op vst connections in cubase? There you assign the different in/outputs.

Vinark,

I beleived I set up the VST conections, but I will check again.

Do I need to connect the work clock cables to get the card to work

Re: Cannot See My Soundcard In Control Panel

No wc needed, should sync with adat.
If you see that card in cubase and can change buffersize etc, it is highly likely the card is working.
How did you connect to the yamaha and how is sync set up. How do you monitor? Adat out to yamaha in?

Re: Cannot See My Soundcard In Control Panel

Vinark,

Thanks for your patience.

I am new to digital.

I can access the card via cubase and getting into the card's control panel. From there i can change size 512 etc I think these are buffer sizes.

I have connected to the Yamaha via the ADAT out and IN sockets using Adat cables connected to the card's in and out ports. I have also tried switching to the cards ADAT 2 inputs to see if it made any difference.

Not sure what sync set up is I was hoping that ADAT would do this automatically.

Monitoring is another problem. I am trying to monitor using the headphone socket on the yamaha and a pair of head phone. I do not know a way of monitoring from the card.

Re: Cannot See My Soundcard In Control Panel

One of both should be in slave mode. preferable the rme. Set it to clockmode autosync and pref. sync to adat1 and check if adat 1 says sync in syncCheck. If this works report back :-)

Re: Cannot See My Soundcard In Control Panel

Vinary,

I have set to clock mode auto sync, sync to Adat 1

Sync Check:

Adat 1 No Lock
Adat 2 No Lock
Adat 3 No Lock

Spdif in: No Lock

Sync Ref:

IMP Master
Freq  44.1KHZ

Time Clock : no time displayed

What do you suggest

Roland

Re: Cannot See My Soundcard In Control Panel

Well then there definitely is a problem. The card is not seeing any adat input. Do you have another system preferably XP to try the card on. Or have a look at the adat setup of the yamaha.

Re: Cannot See My Soundcard In Control Panel

No sorry, but it can´t be to difficult with a manual. Just follow the steps there (And if that is an option somewhere, make sure it is set to master)
