Topic: Distorsion at high levels on a Fireface UC

Hi,

I was very surprised today to see that playing a loudly limited sound at -4dbFs in Nuendo would result in a massive distorsion with my fireface UC.
Can you explain that to me?
The signal is -4dBFs peak limited, as indicated in the master VU in nuendo.
All the faders of the TotalMix are set to 0, but I have massive OVERS in the software playback VU and the hardware output VU.

How can this happen that a -4dBFs signal in the DAW converts into an over 0dBFs signal in the total mix router, with harsh clipping as a consequence?

Is there any audible distortion or is it just the display? Have you tried unchecking the RMS +3 dB option in the mixer settings (F2)?
