Topic: New to the UFX, amazing box but just a few suggestions

I just picked up a UFX last week, an upgrade from my FF400 (which I was very happy about)

1st. It would be nice if you guys could figure out a way for the DURec to stamp proper time on the files.  Having all files from the exact same time is not only annoying, but very confusing when you're using multiple USB sticks to record different bands/artists during a show.

2nd. It would also be nice if you could go from stand alone to TotalMix back and forth without the DURec stopping.  I found this out the hard way during a recording of a concert this weekend.  (Recording has been stopped) or something popped up and I was a little shocked although that is definitely my own fault for not knowing how the unit functions.

This is probably the best unit I've bought in years, I can't stress how amazing this thing really is.  After owning it for 2 days I had already brought it out to 2 shows and recorded them both to a 64GB usb stick.  No computer at all, this really is amazing!

1) The UFX simply does not have an internal real time clock, sorry. There are programs that could edit/add a time stampe after the recording, if necessary.

2) What exactly did you do and what exactly happened? DuRec is not limited to standalone operation.

It was mentioned before on GS that plugging and unplugging usb while DuRec recording can cause problems.

The UFX was setup using TotalMix to record, then the computer was removed (from FW).  I engaged record on the UFX and walked away, about an hour later I came back, plugged my MacBook back into the FW cable and settings/TM started up on their own.  A window popped up that said (USB recording has been stopped).  I didn't touch anything in Totalmix, settings, or the UFX itself.

Why did you remove the FW connection before engaging record?

I setup what channels I wanted to record for the next act through TotalMix then pulled the FW out so I could use my laptop before the show started.  Hit record on the UFX without laptop plugged in still.  Near the end of the show I plugged the laptop back in and it stopped the recording.
