Topic: overload +noise problem

Hi,
i posted 2 days ago, said i got no problem...but was wrong.

HDSP(e)

1. Problem:.
In projects in Cubase is "the" high pitched noise.
The pitch gets lower, the lower the buffer is set. Disappears completely at 265 samples.

When i limit the CPU, the pitched noise disappears exactly at 47% CPU load..
The pitched noise gets lower in volume, when some C1 or C3 stuff is turned off.

2.
(it is linked with problem 1...somehow)

Very strange problem:
A "stopped"project in Cubase causes 90% CPU load after 5-10 seconds waiting. (ASIO in red then)
-The pitched noise (prob 1) disappears during this "overload".-

When the project plays, the noise comes back-->same time CPU load goes normal.

-----------------
Maybe someone can help with this problems.
Thanks for answers in advance.

..damn, i just wanted low buffer...and now this. Smells like i have to give it back.

Re: overload +noise problem

..It was a HDSP(e) AIO.. maybe i was not clear enough.

->Gave AIO back->bought  new Ladyface (5% reduced price)->it has zero noise or other probs->atm performance is "on par" with my M-Audio Delta cards ( @64 buffer= lowest Delta set.)-> 48 Buffer no prob-> happy atm-> gonna try Ladyface-adat to PCI/PCIe later...maybe...

Thanks for all the help...

Re: overload +noise problem

Disable all power saving options for the cpu in the bios (Like C1E etc) It´s the throttling of the cpu that causes this. It causes noise on the power lines.

Re: overload +noise problem

...it was too tempting:
I "fell in love" with TotalMix + the hardware volume knob and buttons with all the perfect features...but i hate USB.
So, i phoned my d.r.u.g.-dealer and asked, if he still got the money i gave him for the AIO.
..then grabbed it again:

1st problem was solved to 100% with adat.
2nd prob disappeared...maybe speedstep caused it. (fiddled around in bios alot last week)

CPU@4,4GHz

Funny thing: If i hadn't given the AIO back at first, i would not have tested the ladyface afterwards.
The combination is my dream-interface.
Ladyface + AIO über alles.

Over and out.

(one little thing: The Ladyface had an air-bubble under the pink paint, at the crest to the backside of the hardware...thought it's dirt and it plopped off. 1mm diameter. I don't care...but it's an absolute "no go" for girls, i think..)
