Topic: Babyface, Default Playback Device: Speakers or Analog 3+4?

I just picked up a new RME Babyface and I'm wondering, in Windows 7, should the default playback device be set to Speakers (RME Babyface) or Analog (3+4)? I want to use headphones as well as a pair of monitors. I have it set on Analog 3+4 now.

Also, does adjusting the volume from the Windows taskbar speaker icon do anything? It doesn't seem to. Should I have it set on 100%?

Also, what should the Default Recording Device be? It defaulted to ADAT (7+8) but I changed it to Analog 1+2.

Thanks!

Re: Babyface, Default Playback Device: Speakers or Analog 3+4?

For Windows XP I use both recording or playback Analog 1 & 2 for Windows. But in my DAWS I use Input of Analog 1 & 2, and playback Analog 3 &4 because 3 & 4 are for headphones.
(plus 1 & 2 if I use speakers like my stereo or computer speakers.)

Either or I suppose. As to volume only the individual volumes work, like wave, midi, CD player I think, since I have not changed it from the middle volume anyway.

Okay. I have another question. In Foobar 2000 or your music player of choice, is there any difference in choosing  "Speakers (RME Babyface)" (which I assume means Analog 1+2 Outputs) or "Analog (3+4) (RME Babyface)" for your output device? Either choice gives me sound from my headphones.
