Topic: Different HDSPe cards compability.

Hello, dear RME users and developers!

Here is my newbie question - sorry in advance, if it is very obvious.

Is it possible to use several RME's MADI, AES and RAYDAT HDSPe cards on one PC at the same time with different AD/DA converters for tracking and live sessions? Or I can have only one type of PCIe cards working at the same time?

As I undertood, driver is the same for all the HDPSe cards. But will there be any compability issues, or will I just have more and more digital I/O into my daw as I add different cards, no matter what kind of RME card is it?

Thank you in advance for help!

Best regards.

Re: Different HDSPe cards compability.

They use a Unified driver, but you will have separate instances of Totalmix "per card".  The only way to route/monitor audio from "card-to-card" will be via physical connections between cards (SPDIF/ADAT, etc), or via crafty software routing in the DAW, etc...
