Topic: basic question : how to record what i hear on windows 7

Hello,
It seems like this is a very basic question, but I haven't found any answer using the search function.
I just want to record the audio stream going thru my speakers. My os i windows 7 ultimate.

Hi axool, that's an easy one ! I'll try to answer !!
First of all, what kind of device are you using ? (UFX, ...)
The principle is the following :
You open Total Mix Fx in windows, and if you "hear something" coming from windows, this "thing" must be routed somewhere in TotalMix FX and you should see the VuMeters "move" in some of the outputs.
So the easiest way is to route that output to you DAW and record it in your DAW.
If you don't have a Daw, you can plug an USB memory in the USB port of the UFX (if it's UFX) and you record the output directly on your USB Stick (it makes a WAV file that can be processed later).
I am far from beeing an expert, so there may be many other ways !
