Hi.

A while ago, I was using an external USB battery to power a Sound Devices USBPre2 unit, and then feeding the digital optical (S/PDIF) output to the digital optical input of a Sony recorder (PCM-D50).

Is it possible to use the same setup with the Babyface?

To put it simply, this is what I want to do:

1. Use my external USB battery to power the Babyface directly: http://amzn.to/zwfSUj
2. Configure the optical output to send optical S/PDIF signal.
3. Record the digital input with my Sony D50.

Will the Babyface work correctly with this setup?
Is it possible to operate the Babyface directly (level setup, Phantom power on/off, etc.) without having to connect it to a computer?
