Topic: Babyface input issue

Hey everyone,

I am having an issue with analog input 1. When I attempt to use it there is barely any signal that the interface is picking up, as well as a slight buzz. The 2nd analog input works just fine and responds like it should.

I have no idea what the problem could be, especially considering I recorded acoustic guitar and vocals simultaneously using both inputs just a couple of months ago without any input issues. Any suggestions?

What is connected to input 1? If it's a microphone, have you applied gain and raised the gain?

I have tried several different mics as well as two guitar processors. In both instances I have increased the gain as much as possible on the interface as well as on the mics (via a db boost on a condenser I have) and the guitar processors.

The level indicator on the unit is also very low, even when I have the input gain maxed, as If there is barely any signal going into the babyface. Could it be a problem with the breakout cable?

Does the mic need phantom power? Is it turned on?

Are you sure you are using the gain knob (under the tool tray on the channel) and not the fader? The fader controls routing to output, not input gain.

Isaac - phantom power is not needed for anything I am using at the moment, mics or otherwise.
