Topic: Fireface UFX + MADI question

Hello,

I am about to buy a fireface UFX for my studio iMac, and because I am going to get a Fairlight CMI 30-A soon, I was wondering what should I get if I want to connect it digitally, as it only has digital MADI capabilities, besides the analog outputs.

I need some advice, as I am a bit confused, being new to MADI.

Should I get an ADI-648 and route it to the fireface using ADAT, OR get an ADI-8 QS with the MADI option?

Any advice is more than welcome.

I should also say that all my instruments are connected to a Yamaha 01v96 mixer (soon to be switched with a 02r96), but for recording purposes they will be patched into the Fireface.

I would advise you the ADI-8QS with MADI option, because your will have then also some analog possibilities and you are more flexible this way.
