Topic: Gain level

I am using my Babyface mainly for voice-over work directly from a microphone into my laptop and I have two issues. (1) I have had to turn up the Gain on the Babyface quite high to get a reasonably good waveform level on the Adobe Audition DAW.  (2). I can't hear myself on my headphones even though I have turned up the Phones volume quite high.  Appreciate your help. Thanks.

Re: Gain level

1) What kind of microphone are you using, which gain settings do you apply?
2) This might help: http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=5039

Re: Gain level

Hi! Daniel. Until a few days ago, i was routing the BabyFace through a Golden Age Project Pre 73 Preamp thinking I could enhance the audio quality. Big Mistake!  I am wondering whether this has somehow affected the signals on the Babyface as I did not have this problem when I first installed the Babyface directly into my Lap Top. I tried reinstalling the latest driver without succes. After doing this I am now not getting any sound from my Right speaker. Any help will be much appreciated. By the way I am using a Rode NT2A Condenser. Thanks.
