Topic: Quicktime screen-recording, FF800 and loopback

Hi,

as I'm recording some screencasts for my customers I tried to use quicktimes screen-recording-feature for the first time. To record the sound of Cubase I set the output-chanels of total mix to loopback and started recording.
Everything seems fine, left and right channel show the signal. However if I play back the video the sound only comes from the left speaker. I tried to record the loopback-signal in Cubase itself and both channels were recorded and played back properly. So it seems it's a problem with quicktimes or the combination of FF and quicktimes.

I tried to record some youtube-videos as well with the same result.

Does anyone have an idea?

Cheers

As far as I know Quicktime is designed to record only a mono signal from one mic - not a stereo source.

Re: Quicktime screen-recording, FF800 and loopback

Hi,
hm, I believe quicktime can record stereo. I tried a wired loopback today and it worked. Not only that both channels are working, it's even in stereo.
I think I'll do it the old way then smile.
However, it's strange ...
