Topic: FF 400 Not recognize on fresh OSx lion

Hi everyone,
After a clean and fresh installation of OSx lion (10.7.4) i was trying to install RME FF400 new drivers.

The installation procedure was fine and its says the software successfully installed.
After the restart I notice that I don't see the RME icons on the dock, (they exist in the application folder).
I can't open them from there (app folder) and I don't see it installed in the system preferences\sound\output-input.

I'm using my FF 400 since 2007 and I constantly update the driver as well as the flash update (firmware revision).

I also tried to delete it from the app folder and to install again and also tried to install older updates.
I also tried to install the RME drivers from my original cd, nothing helps.

You can see my system overview in the attached pic.

Please give me advise on what can i do to install and continue working with the RME.

Hi Niv,

How exactly do you connect to FW on the Mac? Any other FW devices connected (even the Cinema Display FW)? Can you post a screenshot of the System Information app with FireWire selected?

My RME is connected with FW cable and works with the power adaptor.
There is external HD the I connect with FW 800.

Is this a FW800/400 adapter cable? Have you tried without the hard drive connected? Is the red HOST LED on or off?

RME is connected by FW 400.
I did try to install the drivers without the HD connected.
the red HOST LED is on

still FF 400 Not recognize.

Did you try a different FW400 cable yet? The FF400 is detected, according to System Information. Please try removing all driver files, then install only the latest driver.

If it still doesn't work, next step is to try the unit on a different computer.
