Topic: Pro Tools 9 - FF800 - how do I set SPDIF input?

Guys,

I'm used to do this in SONAR : when comes time to mixdown (I also use an external mixing board Yamaha 02R), my stereo output of that board is going to SPDIF input stereo that I see in Sonar.

However, in Pro Tools (which I am very green to), if I go to the I/O I can see all my 16 ADAT channels and all analog, but don't see SPDIF (on the input tab).  Under output tab though, I see the SPDIF...

So basically, I just can't mixdown under Pro Tools...  Cool !

What am I missing ?

Re: Pro Tools 9 - FF800 - how do I set SPDIF input?

Have you tried to reset all the inputs for your FF800 using the "Default" button in the Pro Tools I/O setup screens?  For some reason, Pro Tools does not automatically recognize all the inputs and outputs of the interface until you click the default option.  Once you do this, all the active I/O options for the FF800 appear in the setup screen.  Then when you go to the track edit window in PT, you will see the S/PDIF option for inputs and outputs along with all the other FF800 I/O options.

There are also options in Total Mix to configure the ADAT 2 connections on the back of the FF800 to use either ADAT or S/PDIF.  These must also be configured correctly for the S/PDIF option to appear in the setup section of PT.

Do either one of these address your issue?
