Topic: Can I use a Fireface 400 and a BabyFace together as aggregate device ?

Hello

Until now I used a FireFace 400 and a Multiface I together a an aggregate device on a MacBook Pro 17" which just fried. Unfortunately none of the new MacBooks have Express34 slots. So it seems I'm left with two choices: either I buy a Sonnet Thunderbolt-to-Express34 adapter, either I forget about the Multiface (whose ADAT in/out helped me much more than its 8 ins and outs anyway, and whose dependence on AC was often a problem) and replace it by the cheapest ADAT i/o box I can find. The BabyFace happens to be this, and much more.

When I started working with the FF + MF as an aggregate device, I was told on this forum that to work properly together they should imperatively be linked by a wordclock cable. The reason was, if I remember well, that ADAT isn't reliable enough as a wordclock. Trouble is, it seems that the only way to slave the BabyFace is through ADAT. Am I heading for trouble ?

Any advice welcome...!

Thanks in advance

It's no problem to sync via ADAT.
