Topic: RME Front End Design Latencey Running Cakewalk Sonar 7 Under Vista 64

Can someone from RME please comment on this post !!

I plan to purchase a full front end design rme system to use with vista x64 ultimate and cakewalk sonar 7 producer 64 bit edition.

My main concern is the amount of tracks i can work with at 96k 24 bit (LIVE)...

I use emulators for guitar such as amplitube and waves gtr, and i use bfd for drums and several synths. I record vocals live with software generated efx in sonar. When i say LIVE i mean real time monitoring where the pc does all the processing at 96k 24 bit while the latencey remains very very low, or if possible none at all, with the option of both wdm/waveRT and asio driver models. I already have a pc based quad core system that is capable of running the software.

Can RME hardware do this ?

If so what are the latencey specs...?

How does the RME hardware compare to a Pro Tools system performance wise ?

Can i acheive the same performance from an RME setup on a pc that a Pro Tools setup offers ?

I'm especially interested in the 32 mic in 16 line in/out system shown in the Rme Madi Infor Center page
