Topic: Absolutely necessary to trash TotalMix preferences on driver update?

I'm using a Fireface UC.

Regarding:
'Remove the RME Fireface driver and apps on Mac OS X'
http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=9233

These instructions include the requirement to trash all preference files when updating to a new driver.

My question: is it absolutely necessary to trash the TotalMix preferences?

I utilize all the Snapshots for customized setups, & would like to retain these rather than have to re-create them every time I update the driver.

Thanks.

It is not required to trash anything - unless you do have a serious problem with the driver update process.

OK

To clarify: the only time you have to trash all the RME driver related files is if you are having a problem?

Are the old files replaced by the new driver installation? And if so will that process nuke the saved TotalMix preferences?

The update doesn't affect settings and preferences.
