Topic: Does routing thru Logic instead of TotalMix influence sound?

Hi!

This is my first post on the RME forum, love RME! I recently bought a second Multiface (I now have Mk1 and 2) and I'm so happy; No crashes, perfect sync, beautiful sound..

My question; I want to route audio to various outboard-gear. Instead of using Totalmix I would like to use Logic's routing (external instruments, sends) to do this. (I'm sure Totalmix is great, but in every possible scenario I come up with routing thru Logic seems less of a hassle..)

Will the Logic-software 'colour' the sound or is it just another way of telling the audio where to go?

BTW; Routing audio via Logic will cause latency since I'll be using Logic's software monitoring, but my latency so far is low enough to handle..

Logic will only alter the sound if you set it to do so, i.e. apply effects, otherwise not...
