Heya Gang,

I'm in the midst of designing a budget recording setup which includes building my own PC.

Basically RME's older Fireface 400's are within my price range on ebay, and I'm looking at building a cheap PC tower with an Enlarge ASRock Z77 Extreme6 motherboard that contains a firewire port apparently: "IEEE1394 (FireWire) port implemented with VIA VT6308S controller".

That way I can use one of the new Ivy Bridge CPU's (Yaay!)..

Just want to know if the RME would work with the motherboard?

Please point me in the right direction!
