Topic: intermittent audio artefacts and shred sounds on inst/line 3&4 in rec

hello
I have A rme fireface 400

Iv got intermittent audio artefacts and shred sounds on the inlines 3 & 4 !     and sometime with  crackles ( not buffert style)

its only on the 3 and 4  inst/line in and just in record not in play

very strange and very frustrating cause its these line that I would use primary

is it a question of updating firmare ?

Im on macbook pro 2,2 core2duo 2007

on the ff setting we can read
Version 3.12
unit.... V.70
kernel driver v 3.12

I expect the unit has an internal failure, like a broken AD converter. In that case repair is in order.

yes :o afraid so

but in this case why just on 3 and 4 and not the other inputs ?

every input has it own AD?

and what do I expect in price for repair this, and where ?

Yes, separated ADC per stereo input. You will get an info about the estimated costs when the unit is checked.
