I am trying to rationalise my recording setup.

I have a Macbook pro with a FF UCX and an external Lacie little big HDD (2 x FW800, 1 x FW400 and 1 x USB)

Does anyone know if I can connect the UCX to the Lacie HDD then to my mac?  FW400 - FW800 - FW800?  ie both deivces on the same bus

I'd prefer not to use the USB as they are busy doing other things
