Topic: chain UCX and FF400

hi,

done a search on the forum, but couldn't find the info.
Is it possible to chain a old FF400 with a UCX since the UCX has a firewire port ? as it was the case with up to 3 FF400...

I own a FF400 and if it is possible, then I keep it. If not, I sell it.

In this case, is Totalmix FX stay active and complete for the FF400 panel, or will there any limitation ?

You have to use TotalMix for the 400 and TotalMix FX for the UCX.

that means I need to install 2 different drivers ? Main Totalmix can't "see" the FF400 ? and what about Sequoia, if there're two ASIO drivers, I must choose one, how Seq will see all the channels ?

The ASIO driver is the same when connecting the UCX to Firewire, only the mixer application is not. To each device its own...

hi,

I prepare a live recording with UCX + FF400 + ADAT converter (24 tracks). Is there a rule about connection of the ADAT converter ? into the first or second unit ?
And, is there a rule about connection of the chain ? USB with UCX first and FF400 connected by FW in the UCX, or FF400 first by FW and UCX by FW in the FF400 ?
