Topic: Published Channel Names changed with HDSP 3.04?
I have a Mac Pro with an HDSPe MADI card installed. I recently updated the OS to Mountain Lion (10.8.2) from 10.6.8. I was having a few strange problems with the HDSP 2.77 software/drivers, so I updated that to 3.04. It runs more solid, except that in Digital Performer 8.01, my main DAW, the channel routing, or "bundles" are all messed up. I noticed that the names of the channels on the card have changed- they now say
"MADI 1-8 1"
"MADI 1-8 2", etc.
Where it used to have the name HDSPeMADI /1 (or something like that).
Then on channel 9, it says
MADI 9-16 1
MADI 9-16 2, etc.
So it seems to be named in groups of 8 now.
I have to go and re-set up the Bundles one click at a time on every old project I pull up, so they will all play out of the correct channels. 48 mono channels and 24 stereo, both ins and outs. Big waste of time.
I reinstalled HDSP 2.77 and it was all correct again, but the system was somewhat unstable. Installed 3.04 again, and I get a stable system, but also this name change that messes up the routing in my DAW. Can anything be done about this? Is there a setting in Total Mix that will fix it (like "use classic channel names", or something)?
Thanks!
