Topic: Fireface 800 - Problem switching on

Hello,

I have problems switching on Fireface 800. All started about a year ago, when I had to wait 5-10 minutes to switch it on (not always, randomly). But last month it didnt work so easy...sometimes yes sometimes not, it's random. I never know when / if it will work or not. And when it is finally switched on then all is ok.

I also noticed that if I disconnect some rear analog inputs and connect them again suddenly Fireface started to work (but not always).

Anyone with the same problem?
I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Most probably the FF power supply needs service. Please contact your local RME distributor.

Thanks Matthias.

I  contacted my local RME distributor and they said it will cost me 120 eur only to send FF800 to Germany. The final price maybe 200 or 300 eur and that's too much for me.

I have all FF inputs and outputs routed to a patchbay, maybe is this a problem?

Also noticed ocassionally FF resets when I plug a cable in the front line input.

What's the connection between power supply and analog inputs?

What country are you located? Replacing the power supply can usually be done locally.
