Topic: UFX Octopre MKii Routing options

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can lend me some assistance in figuring something out.
I Have a Focusrite Octopre MKii and a UFX.  I am Wondering if it is possible to use the Octopre outs to create more studio monitor Cues.
I have all necessary cables and have tried every combination I can think of.  I have a firm grasp of TotalMix.  I as routing in the software correctly.
I already have the UFX sending a cue to the main tracking room and an Iso Booth Via the UFX outputs.  I was hoping I could somehow use the Octopre
to create two other Independent Mixes to the Main studio.  Any insight from anyone using a similar setup would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Re: UFX Octopre MKii Routing options

The Focusrite Octopre MKII DOES NOT have optical inputs. it only has outs. thus, you can't use it as a DA converter to expand your outputs.

Re: UFX Octopre MKii Routing options

Thanks for clearing it up Michael.  I figured oit afterwords that the only way i could route a signal out of the Octo was by intputting through the pres...then taking it out of the RME into the octo inputs with the AD DA switch engaged on the octo.  Which completly defeats the purpose.  Regardless.  Thank you for clearifying.

Re: UFX Octopre MKii Routing options

I also have a saffire pro 40.   Will this work in standalone mode for more headphone mixes?

Re: UFX Octopre MKii Routing options

Well, the Sapphire pro 40 at least has optical in and headphone outs, so you seem to be in luck.  As for whether it will operate in standalone mode I don't know.  I suggest you read the manual and try it.

Re: UFX Octopre MKii Routing options

Yes, it will. Be sure to set the correct sample rate on the Saffire, it´s quite bitchy about getting synced to an external source in standalone.
