Topic: Fireface 800 freak out?

[large]
Folks -

I don't see a way to post it here, but I have a short video of my Fireface 800 freaking out.

By freaking out I mean a sequence of flashing lights that seems to repeat, moving from left to right, and the fireface is no longer visible to the host.

I thought it was just one unit beginning to 'go' on me, but just this evening I caught the other FF800 (I have two) doing it.

The only thing I can think is that it has _something_ to do with my Mac Pro going to sleep, but it doesn't happen all of the time. I also can't leave the Mac Pro up during non-studio time, as it draws quite a bit of power (about 3-4 amps if I recall).

If anyone can help, or if they have a mechanism where I can upload the example video, I'd be very appreciative!

Thanks!

Pete

It seems the Power Supply is broken...

Re: Fireface 800 freak out?

Hmm - that would be a tremendous coincidence, as both units are (intermittently) affected. Also, a power cycle and a reboot brings everything back to normal.  Thanks for the input!

I wonder if RME has any thoughts on this, or has seen it before?

Re: Fireface 800 freak out?

Sorry, I've overlooked that you have this problem on both FF.
This seems really a coincidence...so I doubt it is the power supply.
Software configuration or a driver problem is then the next to check.
