Topic: HDSPe MADI FX & HDSPe AES at the same time on a MacPro

Hello all, first post here.

I'm the proud owner of a HDSPe MADI FX, it's plugged into my MacPro (10.8.3) and I use it to go directly into my converters via MADI optical.

I got 2 new converters that use AES XLR which i managed to integrate into the HDSPe MADI FX with the onboard AES connector. But now I have more AES stuff but no free AES connections on the HDSPe MADI FX and need to get more I/O.

From a bit googling I know I have these two options:
A) Get a MADI - AES converter such as the ADI-642 (Great but slightly out of my price range)
B) Get an AES card such as the HDSPe AES and use them at the same time.

Even if money wasn't an issue I would still rather go with option B.

So I have a few questions before I take the big step and invest...

1) Can this be done? - (HDSPe MADI FX & HDSPe AES at the same time on a MacPro)

2) How will it be configured in Mac OSX? - I imagine as an aggregate device.

3) Do I need to clock them master/slave with a Word Clock? I already have a master clock by antelope audio.

4) How will this affect TotalMix? - Will I have 2 separate mixers, or all the channels in one mixer.

5) Other than what is stated above will this have any other impacts on my setup such as latency.

Huge thanks for any help with this, can't wait to fully integrate all my gear! smile
