Topic: Latency with Fireface 400 on 2012 macbook

In my previous set up, i was running Logic 8 on a 2009 iMac with a RME Fireface 400 and never had any issue with latency when mic'ing. I now am running Ableton Live 9 (had the same problem with Live 8 too) on a 2012 macbook pro (2.9 GHz i7, 8 GB memory) but using the same old RME Fireface 400. I have a noticeable latency with the mic on (little bit on the input, and a little bit on the output). I have NO latency with DI instruments (had no issues lining in a guitar). I'm thinking this is due to the Driver Error Compensation. The Driver Error Compensation however does not help with micing.

Is the issue that my firewire 400 interface is too slow for my newest system? Like i said, it ran completely fine on an older system (while running logic). Or does it have something do with with running Logic (maybe because logic is an apple product and just runs very seamlessly)?

A couple of other things:
1. Yes, i have adjusted the buffer settings to as low as possible while retaining good sound quality
2. I do have the latest drivers and firmware for the fireface.

Thanks in advance for your help.
