Topic: Connect Fireface UC and OctaMic 2

hello friends,

I have just bought a Fireface UC and are now setting up my mobile recording. I am connecting the UC to the Octamic 2 via ADAT and I have also connected a Wordclock cable between the units

Can you tell me the settings ? 

Right now the ADAT Led on the fireface is " blinking"

I have set the USB setting on ADAT but the it says 32 KhZ . The Clock source is " internal"

Can you just help go though the settings on both Octamic 2 and Fireface UC.

I need to record our band on thursday so need to set it up :-)

Hi Again,

Now I have changed to the following :

Octamic 2 ADAT cable out to UC ADAT IN
Octamic 2  Wordclock cable IN to UC Wordclock OUT

So what should I then have on the settings under clock Mode ? Clock source : Word, Optical IN or Internal ?




Right now I have Word and it says 44,1 ADAT Sync ?  But that stoped working so now I have it on Internal

What about the dipswitches on the Octamic 2 ? .  Right now I have 3 and 6 on the upper position

Also in the total mix when I speak through the octamic line 1 it says AN 1/2 on the total mix. How do I seperate the inputs on total mix ?

Make your UC the master (set to internal) and set your OctaMic II to external wordclock sync.

To set your OctaMic II too external wordclock:

"The word clock input is activated by DIP switches 1 and 2. Both switches must be set to their
lower position."

As stated in the manual.

This will cause your OctaMic to follow whatever sample rate your UC is set internally.
