Topic: Syncing UFX, FF800 and HDSP9652

Today I added a FF800 to my setup to add some more inputs and routing possibilities. I already had a FFUFX and a HDPS9652 installed and syncing them was no problem at all. But with this new setup I run into troubles when it comes to syncing all three RME devices.

This is my planned setup:
FF800 adat 1 out -> FFUFX adat 1 in
FF800 adat 2 out -> FFUFX adat 2 in
FFUFX adat 1 out -> FF800 adat 1 in
HDSP  adat 1 out -> FF800 adat 2 in
AEB8i (1)             -> HDSP adat 1 in
AEB8i (2)             -> HDSP adat 2 in
FFUFX adat 2 out -> HDSP adat 3 in

All connections are in sync, except the last one. I cannot get a sync between the FFUFX (adat 2) out and the HDSP in (adat 3).

HDSP is wordclock master to the FFUFX.

Here's the settings I use:

I tried similar setups with the UFX as wordclock master, but the problem stays the same.

Do I have to create a wordclock chain between all three devices to make this work? If so, how do I do this? I have no experience in wordclock termination, so I try to avoid setting up a chain.

You are sending AES/SPDIF (UFX) to a dedicated ADAT input (9652 - ADAT3). That can not work indeed.

Thanks for your quick response Matthias!

I overlooked that setting. Changing it to adat solved my problem. I didn't use adat2 out on the UFX before, so I wasn't aware of that switch.
