Topic: Babyface Standalone issue

Hi,

My Babyface only works in Stand alone mode if the computer has been ON first.

When I turn OFF my computer, Babyface continues to work in Standalone mode (USB still powered through the computer, although it is turned off). That works good.

If I pull the plug out of the wall and the Babyface looses its power supply, it does not work in Standalone when I put the plug back, even though it gets power and lights up as normal. I need to start my computer and then turn it off again to get it to work. I do not need to open total mix or anything, just turn the computer on and off. The babyface must loose some setting when power goes off and then get it back from Totalmix or something.

Any ideas?

David

Re: Babyface Standalone issue

Ok, tried to start it in "CC mode", but no sound what so ever. But should I really use CC?

My synth is plugged into left and right "in" and my speakers to left and right "out". I just want to play the synth and hear it without turning on the computer.

Is there a guide for dummies for doing that? smile

Re: Babyface Standalone issue

You have to use a digital loopback for this to work. This means connect ADAT out to ADAT in (one toslink cable, both ends connected to the Babyface).

Then the analog input goes to ADAT out, ADAT out goes to ADAT in, and ADAT in goes to analog out.

See pg 8 of the Babyface CC manual: https://archiv.rme-audio.de/download/cc … face_e.pdf
