Hi, I've recently bought an as described faulty ff800 off of ebay, they said the only problem was the firewire 800 wont work so no daisy chaining more units, this isnt a problem for me because i only need 8 ins and outs. I had previously been using a tascam us1641 and I had noticed that when I get to around 30 tracks using reaper i was experiencing dropouts, i blamed this on the tascam unit and my i5 4gig ram computer so I replaced the interface with the new ff800 and got 8gigs of ram to boost performance all round however i am still getting dropouts on the exact same amount of tracking. I do sometimes use some heavy vsti that could be draining on the computer but i thought  once i had made these upgrades i wouldnt have to freeze tracks to make room anymore. could anyone tell me if this a common limit to tracking digitally.
