Topic: Distortion out of 9652, studio down, help please

I have bad distortion coming out of the card on the 2nd fiber channel,  I have 3 digimax fs units connected to it for 24 channel IO and I get terrible distortion coming out of the DAC outputs on the back of the presonus unit when the 9652 sends audio to the unit.   I swap cables and the audio distortion moves to the other presonus digimax fs unit.

Here i is how it sounds on a clean nylon guitar strum and when i add a 2nd hardware output and then when I add 6 total. Turn YOUR VOLUME DOWN.

Is there anything I can do or do I have to send the card back for repair ?

Same situation with all drivers back to 3.24

I tried multiple different drivers and no improvement.  Firmware is 108 running windows 7 64 bit.

Is there a way to install previous firmware to try ?

I tried this one but it doesn't run.

Another thing that makes me think it is a bad card is that when I click different routing presets, sometimes it will be almost clean and then I go back to the same routing preset it will be horribly distorted on the same exact test signal (guitar strum mp3 above).

Not a problem that I have encountered before. If a mixer reset (CTRL+Preset 1) does not fix the issue then it needs to be checked by a technician. Since we already talked and I issued you an RMA, the next step is to ship the card to the service center as we discussed.

I bought another 9652 and just installed it and I get the same distortion.    It appears my digimax's are to blame.

When only one stereo output (1/2), no distortion but when I add outputs even on just 3/4 I get terrible distortion.  No levels are near clipping on the track meter in Reaper or in totalmix. 

And since the channels being added are NOT being routed to 1/2 it's very odd that there is distortion.

if i switch the fibers around the first two are still distorted on their DAC outputs
the third unit is clean no matter which of the 3 fibers feed it
