Topic: Solved - MADIface-XT - Response Delay when using Front-Panel Encoders?
Hello,
Loving the MADIface-XT, but have a question:
I noticed the front-panel volume encoders on my MADIface-XT seem to have an immediate effect on the front-panel display's Volume reading, but there is a 1/2 second delay (or more) from moving the knob to hearing the audible result. Same delay effect is observed when using the ARC's encoder and buttons (especially annoying with the Talkback button and DIM/Mute functions - those really need to be instantaneous INSHMO).
I also see this 1/2 second delay when turning the front-panel encoder (or using the ARC) and viewing TMFX on the PC (TMFX moves in sync with the delayed actions I hear).
If using my mouse to move a fader in TMFX on the PC, the audible result is instantaneous (as expected).
Is this lag expected, and if so is there any way to make the front-panel encoders and ARC more responsive (less lag)? I'd figure the front-panel encoders and ARC have a direct link to the internal FPGA/DSP and should respond instantaneously (likely faster than using TMFX in the PC)? I'd like to think the purpose-built ARC should respond in realtime for its primary role as a studio's Monitor Controller.
Thanks for any pointers,
Randy V.
