Topic: Madiface USB/DAD AX 24/Logic Pro (Mac)
I could need a little help to fine-tune my configuration: I used Mac's Audio/Midi Setup and RME's driver as well as Logic Pro's Audio and sync prefs, set the AX 24 to master (sync internal), the Madiface to "clock coming in via the BNC", Logic to automatic clock (was internal before) and the corresponding sample rate. The system works and sounds fine, but what's puzzling me are two things I can't explain:
Every device/software in the chain can do 192, but why is it that the actual rate is 176,4 KHz? Obviously it is controlled by the AX 24, isn't it? When I try to set the AX 24 to 48, 98 or 192 it locks, all the lights go on, and no sound is put through both ways (AD and DA). As soon as I go back to either 44.1, 88.2 or 176.4, the AX 24 comes back to life.
Then: why does the Madiface configuration window say "32 bit"? Is there a way to put this to the right value, or does it just say that the Madiface does an internal 32-bit job.
I'm new to all this digital stuff, and I guess I will have to learn a lot....
