Topic: Problem between TotalMix/Multiface and ProTools/Digi001

Hi everyone,

I'm working on ProTools with an old Digi 001 coupled with the converters AN/NA of my RME multiface (running on a laptop with a PCMCIA card).
It worked fine until I had to reinstall XP Pro (SP3) and everything on my computer.
But now, after trying many possiblities of setup, I can't get any signal using the adat inputs in Pro Tools.
I can't tell if the problem comes from Pro Tools/Digi001 or the Multiface/TotalMix.

Here are some facts:
- in Pro Tools Le, the adat output works fine.
- in Direct Monitoring, I can hear the signal that goes through adat in and adat out. But nothing goes into PT...
- more strange: when I launch my laptop computer (on which runs the RME multiface) while my track is armed in rec-mode in Pro Tools, I got the signal working in the VU for a few seconds, then nothing again...
- and last, when I put the HDSP clockmode on Master, the Green Led of the Adat input State flickers. But does not in Autosync mode.

Would anyone got a clue on it?
THX

Re: Problem between TotalMix/Multiface and ProTools/Digi001

In TotalMix (HDSP Mixer) you will need to route ADAT input channels to Analog outputs, and also route Analog inputs to ADAT outputs. This will set up your Multiface to work as an AD/DA converter. The setup is stored in a file on the computer, as the Multiface has no internal memory. This is why it's not working after you reinstalled the OS.

- and last, when I put the HDSP clockmode on Master, the Green Led of the Adat input State flickers. But does not in Autosync mode.

The flashing LED indicates a problem with clock settings.

This setting depends on the clock source for the 001. If the 001 is on internal clock, the Multiface has to be Autosync. If the Multiface is set for Master (internal clock), the 001 has to be set to sync to ADAT input.
