Topic: Would this work for Multiface 1? (Cardbus to Expresscard to eSATA)

Hello people of the forum!

I have a question and i don't mind looking like the idiot that i really am smile

My Multiface (Audiolink 96 Nuendo Cardbus version) really wants to live again but there are 2 main issues...my new laptop does not have an Expresscard slot and i cant afford a new laptop.

I read this post on the forum: http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=14575 and had a crazy thought -

maybe i can buy a PCMCIA > Expresscard converter connect that to an Expresscard to eSATA port converter and connect this mess to my eSATA port using an eSATA to eSATA cable??

i was reading that many devices work well  with  Expresscard to eSATA but really not sure if my Multiface would like it....

This doesnt sound like it could work to me... to much mess but... worth asking as this entire setup would coast about $80.... does anyone here know?

Thanks heaps in advance!!
