Topic: MADIface USB with new feature AES and word sync
The MADIface USB firmware has been updated to v20, following user requests for a sync feature for AES and word signals. Multiple MADIface USB on different machines can now easily be synced by sending AES or word to them all, no need to split or distribute a MADI signal as sync source anymore.
The MADI BNC input can sync with all kinds of AES (AES/EBU, AES3 iD, AES11, SPDIF) and word clock (single/double/quad speed). The current signal is detected automatically and shown in the new, extended Settings dialogs of the new drivers 0.9381 Windows and 1.95 Mac. Operation and setup is easy to understand, still the german and english manuals have been updated already. The LED at the unit continues to show Lock and Sync state for whatever signal is attached.
An AES audio input signal can even be recorded, it will be shown in TM FX and carried together with 62 unused channels over USB to the recording software. Not very efficient, but this is more a 'once in a lifetime' emergency feature that didn't cost anything to add.
Enjoy!
