Topic: DIGICheck - Opening audio device: Error number 4

I am using the Fireface UC in my studio and the Babyface on the road. Each time after switching the devices, I receive the following error message:

"Device Opening Error - Opening audio device: Error number 4".

And I have to reselect the following information:

Input device setup:
ASIO driver select:
ASIO Fireface USB

Device:
Fireface UC / Babyface

Channel:
Analog 1
Analog 2

Source:
Playback
Playback

Well, it is not a big issue. However, doing it over and over again after device switching, is a bit boring. I mean it is the same driver (ASIO Fireface USB) and the input parameters are the same. Why is the setting not stored?

Latest firmware and drivers as of today:

RME Babyface (firmware rev. 220 | PnP driver 1.046 | DIGI Check 5.71)
RME Fireface UC (firmware rev. 119 | PnP driver 1.046 | DIGI Check 5.71)
Toshiba Tecra (Intel Core Duo @ 2.00 GHz | 4 GB DDR2 | Windows 7 Enterprise SP1)

Obviously the choice of interface is part of the settings. Store the same workspace with one and the other interface, then it is a simple hit of the W key to change to the other one.

Thank you for the fast reply. Your suggestion works perfectly!
The only thing which puzzles me is the difference between

DIGICheck Setup (*.dc3)

and

DIGICheck Workspace (*.dcw)

Both setting concepts do their job, so I guess I shouldn't bother. Thanks again for your help!

Workspace inludes more than one window.

Hello,
I'm a Fireface UC user.
I have this same message too "Opening audio device: Error number 4" when I'm opening the DIGICheck.
The back right's window (under RME logo) indicate "no device running".
The DIGICheck does not working, while all the Firface's environment is ok.

My configuration :
DIGICheck version 5.72 (new 5.75 do the same)
Fireface UC - firmware 123
Driver version 1.059
Total mix fx 1.03
Windows 8.1 pro

575 works here. Hit F3 and choose ASIO Fireface USB from the empty listbox.
