Topic: HELP - Madi FX - Error Number 4 - wont operate under windows 8
I just cannot get my MADI FX card to work with windows 8.
Same hardware set up as prior to 8.
I just changed from Windows 7 - where i was also having some intermittent problems, and thought maybe windows 8 would improve matters as apparently 'better' for audio?
But now, although the MADi FX card is 'working' (all the attached MADI devices - 2 x 8QS, 1 x Octa XTC, 1 x M32 DA, 1 x Micstasy) see the card in terms of MADI sync, I cannot get total mix to appear.
audio inputs / outputs appear in Windows from the MADI FX.
On windows 7 i was intermittently getting 'Error number 4' when I looked at device info for the MADI FX - but it worked fine.
On initial upgrade to 8 - total mix would not keep clock speed in memory - so on restart, the system went back to 44 every time (rather than 96)
So i did a completely clean install of OS and all software.
Now total mix and hammer fall will not appear at all - even though device manager sees the MADI FX and says it is working correctly with the latest drivers (1.19)
digicheck 5.71 installed - when opened it now reports 'error number 4' when opening audio device
neither hammerfall DSP nor total mix icons appear in system notification area icons.
midi remote works on MADI FX- i can contact the M32, 8QS's and micstasy via MIDI over MADI.
I have now uninstalled all drivers, removed card and started again.
But the same issue persists.
I am at my wits end after spending the whole day on this.
Not sure if its related, I was also having issues with ipMIDI - total mix was (before it disappeared) somehow get entangled with ipMIDI as a device - error messages about ipMIDI would appear when starting total mix
I need ipMIDI for my SSL matrix desk.
Any advice gratefully received
