Topic: octamic xtc and PT11

Is it possible to control the gain via Midi sent by PT11?
Anybody tried it?

No direct support in the XTC. Only the Micstasy can do this.

OK, so it is possible.
Why is it a problem to implement this feature in the newer XTC?
I wouldn´t buy the Micstasy anyway: 2HE for 8 channels is to large, Madi as an option and no USB Interface.
1 or 2 XTC´s with PT would be a small killer solution for classical live recording.
It would just be a firmware with a new, additional midi protocol.
