Topic: RME Midi drivers preventing Motu's from working? Logic Pro force quit.
Hi, my system set up is Mac Pro 2.8 GHz Quad Core, OSX 10.6.8 - Logic Pro 9.1.8 64bit - RME Multiface II w/ HDSPe PCI - Motu micro lite - Apogee Duet - Line 6 Pod x3 Pro.
Everything was working well up until recently when my midi program changes in Logic stopped switching the hardware patch changes on my Line 6 processor using the Motu micro lite. After much troubleshooting the thing that solved the issue was uninstalling the RME drivers along with the RME MIDI drivers. After that I re-installed my Motu micro lite and everything started working again. As soon as I re-installed the RME drivers again the same problem starts all over... Also now after I close down the Logic Pro project(s) now Logic will not quit unless I force quit it. This happens even after un-installing the motu drivers and unplugging the micro lite. Just opening any project in logic will cause Logic not to quit once I close it out. I must force quit it every time. If I uninstall all the RME drivers it works and closes just fine again. I have updated to all the latest drivers from both Motu and RME.
I have only had the occasional issue with this set up with the same exact problem but I usually would just need to do a restart and everything would work again. Now it doesn't work at all. Just having the RME MIDI drivers installed forces me to have to force quit Logic every time and reboot. If I do not reboot and try to restart Logic it freezes on "Checking Midi Drivers". If the RME Midi drivers are not installed this does not happen. If I let Logic hang I get the message: "Error initializing CoreMIDI. Faulty MIDI Driver? Please restart computer."
Please help, thanks!
