Topic: AES Out on Madiface XT with cable adapter from RME

Maybe I´ve overseen some things, but:
- want to connect the Madiface XT AES Out via the attached cable adapter to an AES IN DAW input from the Crane AvocetII (this connection doesn´t work)

- the AES IN on the attached cable adapter from RME is connected to a Burl B2 ADC (this connection works well so far)

Did I oversee something in the manual or specs?
Thought I could do my A/B monitoring this way instead of using the analogue outputs of the Madiface XT.

I get no audio signal into the avocet aes-in port.
On the avocet II the port can be configured AES or SPDIF. I´ll checked, it is configured AES. (but also tried with SPDIF)

In the setups for AES Out I didn´t realize any further configuration option for this.

Maybe I´ve understood the connection wrong, but thought, that on the AES Out I can "get" the original signal coming from the DAW into the Madiface.

Anything to do with Totalmix? Loopback or so?

The AES output does not do anything on its own... You need to route signal there actively in Totalmix (which you will see in the hardware outputs section) or in your audio software. Only then will something be going to the AES output....

I´ll check TotalMix and dive into the "matrix" to get it running…
